CASE 2:
THE USE OF UV CONDITIONS TO EXAMINE AND ANALYSE THE CAUSE OF APPEARANCE VARIATIONS IN THE LEFT REAR PANEL COMPARED TO THE RIGHT REAR PANEL AND OTHER PANELS IN A WEDDING GOWN
ENQUIRY:
A wedding gown maker had received a complaint about the appearance of the left rear panel of one of their gowns that was noticed during the course of the wedding while photographs were being taken in bright sunlight. The customer had apparently not noticed any problems during the initial selection of the fabric and the gown fittings, presumably because all this would have taken place inside under artificial lighting conditions.

CASE 1:
THE USE OF ULTRA-VIOLET ILLUMINATION CONDITIONS TO REVEAL PRIOR SOILING AND WET CLEANING TREATMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO A GARMENT BEFORE BEING SUBMITTED TO THE DRY CLEANER.
ENQUIRY:
The dry cleaner submitted a lady’s black-trimmed grey viscose/linen
dress, labelled ‘Veronika Maine’, for examination and report. The purpose
of the enquiry was to comment on the most likely cause of the areas of
yellow discolouration under the black bodice trim and near the black
shoulder straps that the customer believes has only become apparent after
recent dry cleaning.
